Select the high-pressure pump: high-pressure pump is the core of the machine performance, select the high-pressure pump first look at the cutting use:
1. If you only cut soft, low-density materials such as sponges, foam sponges, pearl cotton, styrofoam, paperboard, and soft rubber plates, you only need to select a pump with a lower horsepower, such as 15 to 30 horsepower. A pressure of 350 MPa or less is sufficient. This material is most suitable for cutting with pure water. Usually, the nozzle used for pure water cutting is very fine (since there is no need for a large-flow nozzle with sand), and a diameter of about 0.10~0.15mm is enough, and it can be selected according to the amount of production. When the cutting head is processed at the same time, the cutting head can be configured with as many as ten or more cutting heads according to the size of the cutting platform and the size of the workpiece. If the total flow is calculated, the appropriate high-pressure pump can be selected based on the total flow, thus saving the purchase cost. (The higher the flow rate, the higher the price of the high-pressure pump). It also saves processing costs (the smaller the flow, the lower the horsepower of the high-pressure pump and the less the power consumption).
2. If it is cutting hard or dense materials, such as ceramics, artificial stone, marble, granite, glass, organic glass, acrylic, quartz glass, plastic plate, rubber, bakelite, aluminum plate, iron plate, stainless steel, tools Steel, copper plate, titanium plate, even hard alloy materials, etc., must use high-pressure pumps with large horsepower and high flow, and sand cutting is needed. Therefore, the cutting force is mainly derived from sand. High-pressure water is just a carrier for sand cutting. The greater the high pressure water flow, the greater the sand carrying capacity, so choose a large flow high pressure pump. Experience has taught us that the diameter of the most suitable nozzle and sand mixing tube for a single cutting head is 0.36mm/1.02mm (0.014”/0.04”) respectively. This configuration can achieve the published data of the cutting efficiency of top international waterjet manufacturers, however, High pressure pumps capable of providing 0.36 mm nozzles and cutting at a maximum pressure of 380 MPa require a minimum of 40 to 50 horsepower, so this is the standard configuration of a single-head waterjet cutting machine for sand cutting. Similarly, if two cutter heads are needed for sand cutting, 75- to 100-hp high-pressure pumps are needed, and four cutter heads need 150-200 HP high-pressure pumps.
